art 21 video
1 The series of paintings called the coloring book painting were based off of kids drawings.
2 Glen Ligon was the first to use black neon signs in art
3 French citizens had electricity in their homes during the french revolution
4 Although electricity was available only oil was used in the streets of France because it was more "ascetic"
5 Solitude is an important factor to becoming an artist.
6 The Glitney is the place with a majority of Glen Ligon's work
7 Coal dust is used in Ligen's work because of its shine and how it is defined as something useless.

Depicts 50,000 plastic bags, equal to the estimated number of pieces of floating plastic in every square mile in the world's oceans.
Gyre, 2009 8x11 feet, in three vertical panels
Depicts 2.4 million pieces of plastic, equal to the estimated number of pounds of plastic pollution that enter the world's oceans every hour. All of the plastic in this image was collected from the Pacific Ocean.
Venus, 2011 60x103" in one panel, and 8x13 feet in three panels
Depicts 240,000 plastic bags, equal to the estimated number of plastic bags consumed around the world every ten seconds.

high speed photography
these five photos are of high speed photography and these are by far my most favortie. i like them because it shows the action of in which these things are happening in. the first one i like because it looks like something exploded am it flew up. i like the shapes that it made because it looks all bubbly too. i also like the 3rd one because of the color. these are things that our eye can barley catch. its something interesting like another type of art. this gives us inspiration to take pictures just like these an come up with some of our own things. i would love to actually go around an take pictures just like this maybe even trying to make them into 3D .
